Voyage LA article

Blog
Voyage LA magazine wanted to do a story about how we got started.  Here's the interview: "While struggling to paddle a longboard at the Malibu Pier, I saw the big-wave master Laird Hamilton for the first time. He was standing up on a very large board and effortlessly rode waves that he caught with the assistance of what looked like a boat oar." Thank the Laird!

San Pedro surfboard repair

Blog
I bought my very first surfboard at the Malibu Surf Shack for $700. Within the first ten minutes of riding it, I ran into a rock and it put a quarter sized hole in the deck. He took the board to the back of the shop and squirted some kind of goop into the cavity. He wiped off the excess with a credit card and lifted my board into the sunlight, thus causing the goop to harden. Within seconds, the goop was hard as a rock. Things to do in San Pedro

Blog
First time to the area?  Try paddleboarding.  I'll show you how to do it.  We have an awesome location in the Cabrillo Marina just behind the Doubletree Hotel.  The water is very calm most of the time; in fact, it's one of the best spots in Southern California to learn.  The water is clean, the docks are new, my gear is new, the neighbors are nice and you will have a fun time! Paddleboarding is also a great first date.  I'm not going to mention any names, but we have a regular customer who brings a different girl every time.  Cabrillo Marina isn't really on the map for places to paddle, so you can keep it low-key.  This is Krista and me.
